      In order to revitalize the old industrial base in northeast China and establish an equipment manufacturing base in Liaoning province, the relocation and renovation of Dongbei Special Steel Group Co., Ltd. (DBSS) for environmental protection had started since 2007. As of July 2011, eleven special steel production lines had been completed and put into service. 

      They are Steelmaking Production Line, Special Smelting Production Line, High Alloy Wire Rod Production Line, Quality Wire Rod Steel Production Line, Alloy Steel Small Bar Production Line, Alloy Steel Large Bar Production Line, Flat Mould Steel Production Line, Alloy Steel Forgings Production Line, Alloy Steel Bright Bar Line, Special Steel Wire Production Line and Precision Alloy Production Line.

      All main equipment of each line was fully introduced from internationally renowned metallurgical equipment manufacturers, such as North America Metallurgy Corporation, German SMS Group, Austria INTECO, Italy Danieli, POMINI, German SMS Meer, Kocks and American Morgon. By incorporating advanced smelting and rolling processes for special steel worldwide along with our own traditional distinctive processes and technical secrets, DBSS has successfully developed professional production lines for high alloy steel and alloy steel with a focus on stainless steel, tool and die steel, bearing steel, automobile steel and spring steel.

      All products of DBSS are oriented to high value-added special steel products that incorporate advanced technologies to maximize the benefits. The technical performance of the products either matches or replaces imported similar products. The products are also widely used in various industries on national economy such as mechanical manufacturing, petrochemicals, automobile, transportation, and medical and healthcare besides high-tech sectors.

      Through relocation and renovation for environmental protection, DBSS has eradicated the conflicts of development and energy, resources, environment to establish a “low-carbon, green, and economic” special steel company.

 

I  Steelmaking Production Line

      Product dimension:

        Φ450mm, Φ600mm, Φ700mm, Φ800mm con-casting round

        380mm×490mm con-casting bloom

        200mm×500-850mm con-casting flat blank

        150mm×150mm, 180mm×180mm con-casting billet

        1.4-100 tons ingots

      It consists of 1260 m3 blast furnace, a 110t converter, three 110t ladle furnaces, a 110t ultra-high power electric furnace from German Siemens VAI, a 110t VD furnace, a 110t RH furnace, a three-strand CONCAST bloom caster for 380×490mm, a two-strand CONCAST round caster forΦ600-800mm (con-casting flat blank with 200mm×500-850mm), a six-strand billet caster for 150mm×150mm and 180mm×180mm, two 25t alloy smelting furnace, a 60t AOD furnace from North America Metallurgy Corporation, three ladle furnaces, along with a 60t ultra-high power EAF, two 60t VD/VOD furnaces and two three-strand billet casters alloy steel from Italian Danieli.

 

II  Special Smelting Production Line

      It includes 36t and 100t ESR (Electroslag Remlting) furnaces manufactured by INTECO. These furnaces can be operated by using either short collar mould or static mould under computer control at constant smelting speed within a gastight protective atmosphere. It also includes 2.5t, 3t, 10t and 30t ESR furnaces made in China, remelting processes of which are entirely controlled by computers.

 

III  High Alloy Wire Rod Production Line

      Product dimension: Φ4.5-25mm

      Annual production capacity: 300,000 tons

      It consists of a 60t ultra-high power electric furnace, a 60t VD/VOD furnace and a three-strand billet caster producing alloy steel from Italian Danieli, as well as a 60t AOD furnace from North America Metallurgy Corporation. The continuous rolling system features a walking beam heating furnace from German LOI, 22-stand continuous rolling units from Italian Daneili, along with 10-stand refine rolling units and 4-stand sizing units from American Morgan. It is equipped with on-line dimension gauge, flaw detector, thermo-mechanically controlled processed (TMCP) equipment, laying head, stelmor line, on-line solution treatment furnace, continuous heat treatment furnace of stainless steel wire rods, Ebner bell-type furnace, LOI heat treatment furnace, off-line solution treatment furnace, and surface treatment (pickling and shot blasting) line.

 

IV  Quality Wire Rod Steel Production Line

      Product dimension: Φ5.5-16mm

      Annual production capacity: 1.2 million tons

      It consists of a regenerative heating furnace, and a sixth-generation 10-stand refine rolling units from American Morgan company, supported by on-line diameter detection, thermo-mechanically controlled processed (TMCP) system, laying heads, Stelmor lines, PF lines, etc. Main Products including medium and high carbon steel, bearing steel, spring steel, cold heading steel, strand steel, welding steel and other quality steel wire rods specially.

 

V  Alloy Steel Small Bar Production Line

      Product dimension: Φ13-65mm

      Annual production capacity: 600,000 tons

      It consists of a 50t high power electric furnace, a ladle furnace, a VD furnace, a 3-strand billet caster producing alloy steel and TMCP system from Italian Danieli, con-casting mill for round bar and wire rod, three roller reducing and sizing blocks from German KOCKS, supporting on-line dimension detection, on-line UT tester and package machines. It also equipped with three roller-hearth continuous annealing furnaces under protective atmosphere, four flaw finishing lines of automatic shot blasting, straightening, chamfering and flaw detection, a finishing line of automatic shot blasting and flaw detection, and an automatic pickling line.

 

VI  Alloy Steel Big Bar Production Line

      Product dimension: Φ63-360mm

      Annual production capacity: 900,000 tons

      It includes a 110t ultra-high power electric furnace from German Siemens VAI, a 110t converter and a VD/RH furnace from CERI, a 110t LF, a 3-strand bloom caster (380mm x 490mm) and a 2-strand round caster (Φ 600-800mm). It has a vacuum casting system for steel ingots ranging from 20t to 150t, along with rolling mills (Φ1100mm/Φ850mm×4/Φ650mm×4) from Italian POMINI, supporting high-pressure water descaling devices, grinding machines, laser dimension measurement, shot blasting machines, flaw detector machines and grinding machines. 

 

VII  Flat Mould Steel Production Line

      Product dimension: 100-910mm in width × 5-300mm in thickness

      Annual production capacity: 200,000 tons

      It includes a two vertical and two horizontal reversible rolling machine, supporting a walking beam heating furnace, a high-pressure water descaling device, a roller-hearth annealing furnace, a pressure straightening machine, a shot blasting machine from German V+S, a spray marking machine, and an automatic ultrasonic flaw detector from German NDT.

 

VIII  Alloy Steel Forging Production Line

      Production dimensions:

      Bars: Φ120-1500mm;

      Discs: ≤Φ3000mm, ≥250mm in thickness;

      Rings: ≤Φ3500mm ;

      Barrels: ≤Φ2000×4500mm;

      Die blocks: ≤1200×2500mm

      Annual production capacity: 150,000 tons

      This line includes16MN precision forging machine, 80/100MN rapid forging machine from German SMS Meer, 35/40MN rapid forging machine from German Siempelkamp, supporting heat treatment lines, machining lines, and finishing lines.

 

IX  Alloy Steel Bright Bar Production Line

      Production dimensions: Φ5-150mm;

      Annual production capacity: 55,000 tons

      This line covers three FORSTER eddy current testers, two automatic chamfering cut lines, peeling lines from American HETRAN and German Kieserling, drawing lines and grinding machines from German Schumag and German EJP, etc.

X  Special Steel Wire Production Line

      Production dimension:

      Round steel wire: Φ0.1-18.0mm

      Annual production capacity: 150,000 tons

      This line is equipped with an oil quenching-tempering continuous furnace, a lead quenching-tempering continuous furnace, a continuous solution furnace for gas protection, a large inverted drawing machine for bearing steel wire, a water tank drawing machine, a direct drawing machine for stainless steel wire, a direct drawing machine for spring steel, etc. It specializes in high-performance special steel wire products.

 

XI  Precision Alloy Production Line

      Production dimension:

        Strips:0.04-3.0 x 4-400mm;

        Plates: 0.5-5.0mm in thickness x 600-1000mm in width x 1400-2000mm in length;

       Wire rods: Φ5.5-15mm;

        Bars: Φ6-150mm;

        Cold-drawn wire: Φ0.4-14mm

        Annual production capacity: 5,200 tons

      This line includes a 2.5t vacuum induction furnace, a non-vacuum induction furnace, a 4t electro-hydraulic hammer, a 600-4-roller reversible hot rolling mill, a 20-roller high precision cold rolling mill, and a continuous heat treatment furnace with protective atmosphere, etc.
